The pocket sheath was a solution for me to carry a fixed blade with me everyday. For these sheaths I usually use 6-7 oz leather. I use a hand saddle stich for the stitching on these sheaths. This way each stitch is like having two stitches. If one side happened to get damage while being worn, the sheath would not come apart. I also use a waxed thread that when pulled tight helps to resist the thread backing out or coming loose. I carry a pocket bushcrafter in a pocket sheath everyday.   The design has evolved a little from the original one I made. I use the other side of the sheath to carry a Leatherman PST II. My preferred way to carry a fixed blade knife everyday is in my back pocket.
